Podcast to Video

Audio Engineering

YEAR 2024

AB-Tech Community College

For their first project in the DME-140 Introduction to Audio/Video course, students create a short podcast on a topic they know well. This project helps students enhance their planning, technical, and communication skills while providing an opportunity to apply their audio engineering skills.

The podcast must include the following elements:

  1. Audio: Use voice to explain the topic.

  2. Sound Effects: Use open-source audio files to enhance auditory experience.

This project comprehensively focuses on the various essential steps involved in the development process; students are required to submit a well-structured project proposal, an organized script, a draft of their podcast, and finally, the completed podcast, all by established deadlines. Throughout this journey, they receive meaningful and constructive feedback at each significant stage to enhance their learning experience.

During the second stage of this project, students begin to gain an understanding of video editing software. They enhance their podcasts significantly by thoughtfully incorporating photographs and open-source stock video clips that align closely with their chosen topic. This process not only improves the quality of their podcasts but also enriches their overall learning experience.
