Students in GRD-152 Computer Design Techniques I are required to learn about various interactive tools. To successfully meet this important learning outcome, students are tasked with the design and development of a comprehensive 16-page interactive PDF. This document must thoughtfully incorporate hyperlinks and engaging graphics that will be used for a fictional virtual conference series, allowing students to apply their skills in a practical and creative way. Students are provided with the informative copy for the booklet, but they have the option to creatively arrange this information in whatever format or layout they prefer. This flexibility allows them to express their individuality and unique perspective on the content.

This project focuses intently on the creative process, where students first develop an inspiring mood board to gather their ideas and set the tone for their designs. They then progress by sketching various concepts on paper, allowing for the exploration of layout and composition in a tangible form. After this foundational phase, students begin the exciting transition to digital formats using Adobe InDesign, where their visions start to take shape. Finally, students are required to upload their finished work to ISSUU, ensuring that their links and interactivity is working and their content can be shared for a wider audience to appreciate.
